Life CHAMPS® 7-on-7 Flag Tournament

Life CHAMPS Youth Sports will be hosting the fourth annual St. Patrick's Day 7 vs. 7 Flag Football Tournament for 5-12 year olds at Burns Park March 12-14.

Parents and coaches, you get to put your own team together, with up to 11 players on each team. Grab some guys who played on your team last year or mix it up by getting some new players involved. Just like our league, there will be four age divisions: Freshman (5-6 year olds), Sophomore (7-8 year olds), Junior (9-10 year olds), and Senior (11-12 year olds). A player's division will determined by his age on September 1, 2009. Teams will be registered with Life CHAMPS by their coach, not by individual players.

Team registration will begin online on Monday, February 1. Coaches, go ahead and pull your team together, getting each players' personal information (age, birthday, address, phone, email) so you will be ready to register online on Monday, February 1. The number of teams will be limited so be sure to sign up early. Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 3. No registrations after that date.

Tournament Details
• Cost is only $250 per team (that's approximately $23 per player if you have 11 players). Full payment is due at registration for the team to be entered in the tournament.

• We will be using the same flag rules we used for our sophomore divisions during our season (no kicking game)

• If you were issued Life CHAMPS flags during the football season, bring those with you. Additional flags will be provided as well for those who don't have them.

• Be sure your entire team wears matching colored shirts or jerseys. NO HELMETS WILL BE WORN.

• Each team can have up to two coaches on the field during the games, both of whom must stand well outside of the area of play.

• Games will begin under the lights on Friday evening, continue all day Saturday and conclude Sunday afternoon. There will be no games on Sunday morning.

• Each team is guaranteed at least four games over the weekend with winners' and losers' brackets. The winning team from each age division will receive championship medals.

• Each game will begin with a prayer with both teams and will be played by the players, coached by the coaches and cheered by the parents in the true spirit of Life CHAMPS competition - playing hard to win but not making it all about winning. It's about fun, competing, getting better and doing your best all in a positive and encouraging environment.

We're excited about getting out and playing a little spring football. Coaches, get busy right now putting your team together. Whether you played flag or tackle or not at all last year, there's nothing more fun than playing some good ole' flag football games with your buddies. Pass the word along to your buddies who haven't played Life CHAMPS before and get them involved as well.
